Aims & objectives

This seminar aimed to create an inspirational learning space for exchange of experience and good practice. Its main aim was to support organizations in developing a trust able network for future cooperation's in the field of European Voluntary Services and to support quality of EVS projects through supporting EVS coordinators.

The specific objectives of the EVS - project were:
-To provide a meeting point for organizations to exchange information, to support contact and cooperation between organizations, to establish international partnerships
-To understand the concept of EVS and the learning dimension of EVS service.
-To raise awareness of the learning dimension in EVS and provide tools for learning support
-To promote implementation of EVS projects.
-To create an inspiring learning environment for EVS coordinators for sharing good practice, inspiration and motivation
-To strengthen competencies of EVS coordinators (both professional and personal)
- To improve capacity of practical realization of EVS projects in the frames of Erasmus+ and to provide up-to-date information about the Erasmus+

So as to achieve better and more sustainable results as well as to support participants in their practical implementation of competences gained, the project has been divided into two distinct stages:
-Contact Making Event for EVS coordinators - 7th to 13th September 2016
-Training Course "Building Quality EVS projects" for mentors -22nd to 28th November 2016

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The attendees were youth workers,EVS Coordinators, EVS Supervisors and mentors and coming from 1 different countries: Turkey, Croatia, Italy, Latvia, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Greece, United Kingdom, the Netherlands
In particular, the project participants for each activity planned are:
- Contact Making Seminar: youth workers, project managers or EVS Coordinators that they are willing to develop new contacts, aiming at creating and building new partnerships for the sending and hosting of EVS volunteers and learn more.

- Mentor Training: mainly for mentors and EVS supervisors. This training activity invites active mentors and EVS Coordinators that feel the need of developing their competences further and improving the quality of their mentorship and keeping quality of their projects.

Training methods used & main activities

The methodology was based on the principles of non-formal education such as experiential learning, cooperative learning, shared responsibility to name but a few and will be enriched with practical examples of projects that have brought about change and success in this area.
Simulation games, multimedia presentations, lectures, team activities.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants recognized lifelong, non-formal education as a powerful tool to achieve goals.

More they were encouraged to develop new EVS projects, develop new partnerships, and they established networks to create new ideas for further cooperation.
