Aims & objectives

The aim of the training course is to increase the capacities of international youth organisations and networks to carry out quality intercultural youth activities with a multiplying effect for their members, and to enable young people to actively uphold, defend, promote and benefit from the Council of Europe’s core values of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
The training course objectives are:
• To increase participants’ organisational skills in relation to preparing, implementing and
evaluating international youth activities;
• To increase participants’ competences to apply non-formal education and intercultural
learning approaches in their international youth activities;
• To develop participants’ understanding and agency in connecting their organisation’s
work and activities to the Council of Europe priorities, tools and standards;
• To create a space for youth organisations and networks to make valuable contributions
to the programme of the European Youth Centres and of the European Youth Foundation, through constructive dialogue.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The course brought together 35 participants from a similar number of youth organisations from member countries of the Council of Europe.
The team of trainers consisted of: Lisa Teresa Gut (German), Sergiu Bogdan Imre (Romanian/French), Tilemachos Boni (Greek/Belgian), Mara Georgescu (Romanian/French)

Training methods used & main activities

Self-directed learning, experiential learning methods (based on COMPASS-manual), group work, different reflection methods, inputs, peer-coaching.

Outcomes of the activity

The training course equipped trainers and organisers with necessary skills, competences and knowledge. Key learning outcomes included enhanced skills in programme design, linking objectives with learning outcomes, and greater confidence in organising international activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Preparation and planning the activity, defining the general flow, planning and facilitating sessions, writing the report.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
