ESN Eduk8 Starter 2024

Aims & objectives

The Eduk8 Starter aims to train 40 new trainers in training design and facilitation techniques. The participants are from various youth organisations all over Europe and are connected through the Erasmus Student Network.
The topic of the event was gender equality. Two specific sessios were dedicated at this, and all participants chose a specific topic within gender equality to deliver as first training during the event.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The trainers were from Greece, Belgium, Italy and Portugal. Participants were from all over Europe.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was based on experience-based and science-based learning methods. The main methods used were KOLB, 4MAT, Bloom's taxonomy. All sessions were designed following 4MAT.

Outcomes of the activity

40 trainers from various countries were formed. Many continued to deliver trainings in their own countries and organisations. All participants gained awareness and understanding about gender mainstreaming and gender equality through their own delivered sessions, and those of their peers.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

The training team consisted of 4 trainers and one coordinator. All participants were split in 2 tracks. Every track had a designated pair of trainers who facilitated all sessions. The trainers all shared the preparation of the session design.

I worked on this training for 8 days as a full time trainer.
