Aims & objectives

The project's main goal is to introduce the tool of Stand-Up comedy as a powerful approach to raising awareness about human Rights and various related issues.


OBJECTIVES

- Raise awareness of the sensitive topic of human rights and related issues.
- Equip youth workers with new techniques such as stand-up comedy, to develop new strategies for promoting inclusion
- To enhance participants’ communication skills, creative thinking, social bonding, and critical thinking.
- To Promote and increase the visibility of the Erasmus+ program

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

‘Erasmus+ Open Mic: Raising awareness of HR!’ is an international initiative that will involve 24 participants engaged in the youth work field from 6 countries: Lithuania, Portugal, Italy, Latvia, Greece, and Poland.

Training methods used & main activities

Team building, Public Speaking Exercises, Role Play, Simulation Games, Debates, Social Theatre

Outcomes of the activity

At the end of the project, we organized an Open Mic event where the participants had the chance to speak in public and tell their jokes with a focus on raising awareness about Human Rights violations.
Participants gained a deeper understanding of Human Rights topics, stand-up comedy writing techniques, and how humor can be used to address sensitive issues.
