Environment deserves education

The training activity took place
in Ziemupe, Latvia

Aims & objectives

Training coursed aimed to:
-To train 24 environmental activists and practitioners to become trainers in the field of environmental education
-To increase awareness of the importance of the professional approach to environmental education for youth
-To increase knowledge of different phases of the learning process and their link to environmental education
- To explore aspects and specificities of environmental education in relation to international groups
- To establish links between intercultural learning and environmental education in working with international groups of young people
- To explore new trends and developments in environmental education
- To empower participants to work on new methods, as well as to
develop educational processes around the existing ones.
- To build upon the previous experience and outcomes of previous projects and put those outcomes in the educational practice
- To stimulate the participants to act as multipliers in their own
organization and regions
- To develop new partnerships in the field of environmental education in Europe.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group: 20 European young people, willing to work torwards sustainable development using NFE.

Training methods used & main activities

Methods used: group work and practice of innovative environmnetal education methods, other NFE methods.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants gained more knowledge and practical experience about NFE, effective facilitation and environmental education. During the activity they created various NFE activities to promote environmental awareness among youth groups.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My responsibilities included assistance in project planning and co-training the course.

I worked on this training for 8 days as a full time trainer.
