Aims & objectives

The training aimed to prepare 30 social workers regarding Emergency Situations Management during 10 days of theoretical training and with a practical approach.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

30 social workers involved in emergency situation intervention, 18 within EU countries and 12 from partner countries.

Training methods used & main activities

Disaster simulation - role-play;
Field visits;
Meeting and debates with local authorities - know-how exchange;
Practical workshops - hands on activities;
Outdoor activities: environment exploration, resource mapping; risk assessment, orientation and cultural exploration;
Network building;
Communication skills improvement;
New technologies for team management; fundraising, communication and resource management

Outcomes of the activity

30 participants equipped with the adequate knowledge and skills to coordinate at a medium level an emergency intervention action regardless of its kind.

4 participants involved in Syrian refugee camps in Turkey;

2 participants involved in 2016 floods emergency campaign in Romania;

1 participant coordinates a petrol pollution recovery campaign in Ukraine
