Aims & objectives

Eastern Express" Training course aims at rising quality of Youth Exchanges within action 3.1 of Youth in Action (YiA) programme, especially is cooperation between Programme and Eastern Europe and Caucasus (EECA) regions.Elements of the training course:
- Youth in Action Programme presentation with special focus on cooperation with EECA countries within Action 3.1 projects;
- How to find partners?
- How to organize successful Youth Exchange project with Programme and Neighbouring Partner Countries of Eastern Europe and Caucasus?
- Youth Exchange Project Management within Youth in Action Programme - focus on quality;
- Intercultural learning in youth projects;
Partnership in youth projects;
- Innovation and creativity in Youth Exchange projects;
- Support activities for Youth Exchanges in Youth in Action Programme;

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The TC was designed for 25 voluntary and professional youth workers from Programme countries and EECA region: youth leaders and project coordinators working directly with youngsters, who are interested in setting up international youth projects. The team was composed of 2 trainers with experience in Youth Exchange Project Management and cooperation with EECA Partner Countries as well as knowledge of the European Community Youth in Action Programme, in particular Action 3.1. Moreover the two trainers were selected for their ideas in developing innovation and creativity in Youth Exchange projects.
Additionally a reporter was selected to prepare and edit a final report related to the concept and implementation of Eastern Express training courses as well as situation of Youth Exchanges in action 3.1 with EECA region.
Moreover one officer from SALTO EECA and Turkish National Agency of the YiA Programme composed the team.

Training methods used & main activities

The training course followed the non-formal education approach. A combination of different creative and interactive methods were used and designed upon the profile of participants. The course programme and contents were organised to allow for the maximum participation of the group using active and participatory methods

Outcomes of the activity

Participants of the TC established partnerships for development and implementation of international youth exchanges by taking into account creativity and innovation within projects with partners from East Europe and the Caucasus countries.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My responsibilities were:

- Prep team member and a full time trainer;

- Participated the prep team meeting in Ankara
- Delivering the sessions with my co-trainer
- Participated daily team meetings
- Support of the participants during and after the course

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
