The training aimed to help teachers explore the educational potential of emerging technologies, with a particular focus on virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI). It sought to strengthen participants' understanding of how these technologies can enrich teaching and learning, increase learner engagement, support experiential learning, and create more interactive and inclusive educational experiences.
The course also aimed to develop teachers' confidence in evaluating and selecting appropriate digital tools for their educational contexts. Participants were encouraged to consider how emerging technologies could be integrated into lesson planning and classroom practice while maintaining pedagogical relevance, accessibility, critical thinking, and responsible technology use.
The training brought together teachers from Bulgaria and Romania. This international learning environment provided opportunities for participants to exchange professional experiences, compare educational practices, and explore how emerging technologies could be adapted to different classroom contexts.
The training used interactive, experiential, and practice-oriented learning methods, including:
• Interactive presentations and guided discussions on emerging educational technologies.
• Demonstrations and exploration of VR applications in teaching and learning.
• Practical activities introducing AI-powered educational tools.
• Collaborative lesson-planning and learning-design exercises.
• Group discussions on the opportunities and limitations of technology-enhanced education.
• Peer learning and the exchange of classroom experiences.
• Reflection on accessibility, responsible use, and the pedagogical value of digital tools.
• Feedback and action planning to support the application of learning in participants' professional practice.
The training was designed to strengthen participants' understanding of how VR, AI, and other emerging technologies can support educational practice. Participants explored possible applications for creating immersive learning experiences, developing educational resources, and making lessons more interactive and engaging.
The course also encouraged teachers to evaluate technology according to learning objectives rather than novelty alone, considering its suitability for learners' needs and classroom realities. The international exchange supported the sharing of ideas and experiences that participants could adapt to their own educational environments.
I worked as a trainer, facilitating the learning process and guiding participants in exploring the educational applications of new technologies, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. My responsibilities included introducing key concepts, facilitating interactive discussions, guiding practical exercises, encouraging peer learning, and supporting teachers in connecting technological possibilities with their pedagogical objectives.
Through participatory and practice-oriented methods, I encouraged participants to critically assess emerging technologies and consider how they could be integrated into teaching in meaningful, inclusive, and responsible ways.
