TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Redoin Khlifate
The training aimed to strengthen young people's digital skills and introduce them to mentorship as a tool for personal development, learning, and active participation. It sought to help participants use digital tools more effectively, develop their confidence in digital environments, and understand how mentoring relationships can support their learning journeys and future goals.
The activity also aimed to encourage peer learning, collaboration, critical thinking, and responsible digital engagement. By combining digital skills development with mentorship principles, the training provided participants with opportunities to explore how digital tools and supportive learning relationships can contribute to their personal, educational, and professional development.
The activity brought together young people from Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Morocco, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This international composition created opportunities for intercultural exchange, peer learning, and the sharing of experiences related to digital skills, mentorship, and youth development.
The training used interactive and participatory non-formal education methods, including:
• Icebreakers and team-building activities.
• Interactive presentations and guided discussions.
• Practical exercises using digital tools and resources.
• Group work and collaborative problem-solving.
• Peer learning and experience-sharing activities.
• Mentorship exercises, including active listening, questioning, feedback, and goal-setting.
• Role-playing and simulated mentoring conversations.
• Reflection activities and personal action planning.
These methods encouraged participants to engage actively, learn from one another, and connect the training content to their own experiences and needs.
The training was designed to help participants develop a stronger understanding of digital skills and their relevance to youth development, education, and participation. It also introduced practical mentorship principles that participants could apply when supporting peers, sharing knowledge, and pursuing personal learning goals.
The combination of digital learning and mentorship encouraged participants to reflect on their strengths, identify areas for further development, and consider how digital tools and supportive relationships could help them achieve their objectives. The international setting also provided opportunities to exchange perspectives and learn from participants with different cultural and educational backgrounds.
I contributed as a trainer, supporting the preparation and delivery of the learning activities. My responsibilities included facilitating sessions, guiding individual and group exercises, encouraging participation, supporting peer learning, and creating an inclusive learning environment.
I used non-formal education and participatory facilitation approaches to help participants engage with the topics of digital skills and mentorship, exchange experiences, and reflect on how to apply their learning in their own contexts.
