The main aim of this partnership building activity was to bring together and provided space, time and resources to occupational centers that work with people with intellectual disability to:
- Meet at a common place with other occupational centers from all over Europe;
- Widen their horizons and expand their range of knowledge;
- Get familiarized with other working methods and exchange good practices;
- Set the basis of working in a network;
- To be introduced to the new Program ERASMUS+;
- Create and enable mobility, learning and training projects at a European level.
In this project participated 8 partner associations and 25 professionals. Among the participants were project coordinators, people that work with people with intellectual disability, social workers, and representatives of various European occupational centers coming from the following countries:
• Spain: 13 participants
• Italy: 2 participants
• Poland: 2 participants
• Greece: 4 participants
• Portugal: 2 participants
• Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia : 2 participants.
Working language: both English and Spanish.
The partners actively participated in every activity of the project where they had the possibility to get to know each other personally and professionally in order to make contacts between occupational centers through a participatory, interactive and inclusive methodology which consisted of presentations, sharing of ideas, dynamics, open discussions, group works, and frontal presentations.
The areas of interest among the participants of this activity were sustainability, trans-nationality and innovation. The work was divided into learning and sharing of good practice and innovative aspects (peer to peer) and cooperation.
The participants of this partnership building activity gave very positive feedback already at the end of the seminar days, something that was also seen in the evaluation questionnaires and in the after the seminar follow up.
I was one of the two full time facilitators.
