TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Nina Dohr
This training course was based on the importance of leadership in everyday life situations and even more on those appearing in youth work. The focus was put on methods and aspects for and about leading groups, but also on how to present oneself and behave in order to be respected.
„Desire to Inspire” had the goal to teach youth workers how to successfully lead groups and how to teach youngsters to become efficient team-players.
The participants were youth workers, youth leaders and those interested in this field from Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Estonia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Malta.
The organizing and trainers team consisted of members from Austria, Poland and Lithuania.
An activity during this training course was a quiz show on the topic of Erasmus+. Participants played in teams and shared knowledge, but also gained a lot of new understanding.
Learning how to be leaders was enhanced by a city treasure hunt. Participants had several tasks to fulfill in the city and had to find common ground to make it work. Leadership was key here.
The stage was given to participants with doing their own project-designs. This was facilitated briefly with a "lightning round" of ideas and matching ideas and participants in speed-date form.
Participants learnt how to lead but also how to step back throughout the week. They shared positive feedback after coming home.
