The training aimed to promote cultural diplomacy, intercultural dialogue, and youth empowerment by exploring the role of art, education, and entrepreneurship in building stronger international connections. The sessions addressed the need to develop participants' understanding of cultural heritage as a tool for peacebuilding, communication, and sustainable development while encouraging creativity, active citizenship, and lifelong learning. Special attention was given to the cultural exchange between Georgia and Japan, highlighting calligraphy as a universal language that connects people across cultures. The activity supported the missions of the organizing partners by strengthening intercultural cooperation, education, and youth participation.
The activity brought together participants, trainers, artists, entrepreneurs, diplomats, and representatives of educational and cultural institutions from Georgia, Japan, and other countries. The programme included young people, educators, and professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds, creating an international learning environment that encouraged intercultural dialogue, networking, and the exchange of good practices. The participation of Japanese cultural representatives and diplomatic institutions further strengthened the international dimension of the activity.
The training was based on non-formal education and experiential learning principles. I facilitated interactive workshops, group discussions, storytelling, reflection exercises, peer learning, case studies, cultural exchange activities, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants explored the concepts of cultural diplomacy, the educational value of art, and intercultural communication through dialogue, practical examples, teamwork, and interactive learning activities that encouraged active participation and critical reflection.
The training increased participants' understanding of cultural diplomacy, intercultural communication, and the role of art and education in strengthening international cooperation. Participants developed greater awareness of Georgian and Japanese cultural traditions, enhanced their communication and collaboration skills, and established new professional and intercultural connections. The activity was considered successful due to the high level of engagement, positive participant feedback, active discussions, and the strong cooperation between cultural, educational, diplomatic, and civil society partners. The event was documented through media coverage, social media, photographs, videos, and the communication channels of the organizing organizations.
As a trainer, I designed and facilitated interactive learning sessions on cultural diplomacy, the role of art in social development, intercultural dialogue, education, and Georgia–Japan cultural cooperation. I prepared the learning content and non-formal learning activities, facilitated discussions and reflection sessions, encouraged active participation, and created an inclusive learning environment for participants from diverse cultural backgrounds. I also collaborated closely with international speakers, cultural institutions, and the organizing team to ensure that the educational objectives of the programme were successfully achieved.
Nino Gogokhia demonstrated outstanding facilitation skills and deep expertise in cultural diplomacy, non-formal education, and intercultural learning throughout the Gulani 2026 programme. Her training sessions successfully connected art, education, and international cooperation, inspiring participants to view cultural heritage as a powerful tool for dialogue, peacebuilding, and social innovation.
