Aims & objectives

The training was the second module of larger Circus Transformation (CTF) training series by Caravan Circus Network, now on it's third round. The overall aim of the CTF-training is to develop the competences of Youth Circus teachers in the field of Social circus, circus as a tool for social inclusion. The more specific aims for the second module are: The trainee will be able to set adapted learning objectives, to design a social circus course, to plan pedagogical activities, and to document their preparation.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The 20 participants of the training came from Youth circuses around Europe, including countries like: Germany, France, UK, Turkey, Russia, Czech Republic, Italy, Finland, Belgium and Ireland.

Training methods used & main activities

Training was based on non-formal training methods including activities and games like: Find your aims, Still "photo" of the previous CTF-week, drawing and writing in small groups, Sailship evaluation, Pull from the hat, Case -acting stops, Human puzzle planning, Evaluation by music, Group dynamic statues, simulations, creating videos etc.

Outcomes of the activity

Based on the discussions, observations and mid-term and end evaluations the training achieved well the aims set for it. The feedback from the participants was overall positive and the participants expressed in many ways how they had learned through the week.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

With my trainer partner we planned, implemented and evaluated the training based on the aims and themes and previous feedback given us by Caravan Circus network.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
