Aims & objectives

Youth in Action Programme project, Training Course Action 3.1 has implemented in period 15 to 23 May 2013 in Sutomore, Montenegro, with participants from European program countries and neighboring partner countries.

Training Course was about youth employment using creative photo opportunities as a method for social inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities.

Objectives on this training course were:
• to promote youth employment and inclusion as a most significant value working with youth that are long term unemployed.
• to increase awareness of the value and importance of creative participation as a form of active engagement and as a tool to develop and improve competences for personal, social and professional development.
• to encourage excluded young people with fewer opportunities – long term unemployed to play an active role in their communities.
• to contribute participants development of creative capabilities and skills using non formal learning and creative methods.
• to promote Youth in Action Programme, as an opportunity for active social participation of long term unemployed youth.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group on our training course were people actively involved in work with unemployed young people (youth workers, youth leaders, play workers, NGO activists, school teachers, social workers, volunteers).

Participants were from Montenegro, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Greece, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Portugal, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine.

Training methods used & main activities

The working methods used on this training course were non-formal education and informal way of learning. This included: games, energizers, ice-breakers, team building exercises, individual and group outdoor educational activities, work on practical examples in a small groups, simulations, thematic workshops, discussions, debates, presentations...

Activities on our training course were: presentation of Youth in Action Programme and informing long term unemployed youth about new possibilities, non-formal education and informal way of learning, ice-breakers, team building exercises, individual and group activities, work on practical examples in a small groups, discussions, debates, presentations, project proposal witting, thematic art workshops, making creative actions, creative initiatives, creative energizers, art and creative games, creating video, photos, work on individual and group activities.

Outcomes of the activity

The main goal of our training course “Creative photo opportunities for youth employment“ was to offer to participants new creative techniques and learning methods for improving youth employment and inclusion of excluded groups of long term unemployed youth.

Also by promotion youth participation and creative activities, as a result of our TC participants will use those learning methods in everyday work for their empowering and their youth employment.

Idea was to show that there is possibility to solve certain problem of a long term unemployed youth, by using creative opportunities and innovative methods of non formal learning and working on their empowering skills and knowledge. These creative methods can lead to solution or point out a problem that can be resolved by working on it afterwards.

In this training course I worked as a trainer with my colleague Boris Radivojkov – expert for art photography and educator (www.borisradivojkov.com)

In total two trainers from Serbia delivered program activities using an interactive and participatory approach method.
