TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Daniele Cibati
The training was oriented towards youth workers and educators, focusing on equipping them with creative and emotional tools to address issues like gender-based violence and bullying. The aim was to provide innovative educational approaches that combine art and emotional engagement, helping these professionals better support young people in exploring complex social topics. This approach fits the goals of the organizations involved by enhancing social and civic engagement through emotionally impactful learning experiences.
The target group of the Creative Emotional Journey activity consisted of 15 youth workers and educators seeking to improve their skills in using creative and emotional methods to tackle social issues like gender-based violence and bullying. Participants came from various European countries, including Spain, Italy, Greece, France, and Lithuania, creating a diverse and multicultural learning environment that encouraged cross-cultural exchange and collaboration
The training employed various innovative methods, including:
Forum Theatre: Used as an interactive approach where participants could act out scenarios related to social issues, allowing for real-time exploration of solutions.
Intersectional Framework: This method helped participants understand how overlapping social identities influence experiences of oppression, enhancing the depth of discussions.
Processwork: Aimed at facilitating personal and group transformation by addressing underlying emotional and psychological dynamics.
The training activity achieved enhanced skills among youth workers and educators in using creative, emotional, and intersectional approaches to address social issues like gender-based violence and bullying. Success was indicated by participant feedback, the implementation of new methods in their work, and continued collaboration between participants.
Publications and documentation of the training (as toolkit and manual) can be found on the Creative Emotional Journey website, which includes detailed reports, participant reflections, and updates on the project's impact and outreach.
