This is a reference for Bruno Pizzini
Aim is to provide a highly practicable solution by conveying practical and basic theoretical knowledge concerning the most up to date language instruction methodologies based on Comprehensible Input.
Specific objectives are:
To increase the efficiency of short term language instruction provided to youth workers;
To enable participants as recipients of language instruction to be proactive in making sure they are taught efficiently;
To establish a common platform for organizations and youth workers for long term cooperation, raising awareness of best practices in training;
To encourage, through learning a foreign language, youth workers to explore opportunities and provide them a great incentive for mobility;
To discuss how teachers can be motivated to adopt new methodologies.
In this project we invited youth workers preferably aged 18~35. The project has 11 partner organizations from 9 different countries with Turkey and Hungary sending 4 participants and the other organizations 3 participants each.
It is the chief aim of the project to sensitize participants to improve / achieve various competences including transversal competences useful both in work and social life.
- Understand the theoretical foundations of teaching languages with CI, which will enable them to be well informed students and / or instructors of languages with regard to methodology;
- Gain experiences of the application of the approach during demonstration classes where various languages are taught, and thus be able to view it from the students’ point of view. This, in turn, will enable them to empathize with the people who will in the future be students of languages they (help) teach;
- Practice the application of CI methods in coaching sessions, enabling them to start using them in practice. This will improve their communication skills in the mother tongue and any other language they might learn in the future.
