Aims & objectives

The Contact Making Seminar "European Rural Youth" aims to bring together youth workers from rural areas and explore the possibilities of international cooperation in small scale places in Europe.

Objectives:
- To provide better understanding about “Youth in Action” opportunities when working with youth from rural areas
- To provide space and opportunities to develop partnerships for future cooperation
- To learn how to develop a youth project within “Youth in Action” programme
- To develop ideas and draft projects aiming to involve young people from rural areas
- To get to know realities of rural youth in participants’ countries/regions

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

24 participants from Belarus, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Norway, Slovenia and Turkey. All participants were rural youth workers.

Training methods used & main activities

The participants had a chance to develope their project ideas into real projects, for this we focused on the qualities of a good project and the "how to" points for making a project.

Outcomes of the activity

At least one of the planned projects was realized. Also a strong network was build for future project ideas.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was in charge of facilitating and planing the seminar.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
