Aims & objectives

The project is seeking to promote inter-generational dialogue and learning. In our daily life we see more and more young people using their social media profiles a lot more than interacting with one another in real life. This way of communication seems to be alien to the older generation. Thus, we seek to understand and develop ground for learning from one another and also both help older people to understand new stream media channels and younger people to understand the importance of live communication and developing the social skills necessary for a real-life experience. The project aims to foster mutual understanding between generations from post-soviet countries and understand their perceptions of social media and digital communication.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group was composed of young people 18-30 and older participants 40+ years of age from Estonia, Lithuania, Georgia, Armenia.

Training methods used & main activities

Outdoor theater; group discussion; role plays; interviewing; mind-mapping and so on.

Outcomes of the activity

The training course was a success since it fulfilled its objectives and even more. We have had some inter-generational communication barriers broken; an online source jointly created http://clashofgenerations.tumblr.com/; a big amount of new follow-up projects and all that in an inter-generational environment with inter-generational cooperation.
