Aims & objectives

Bringing together a diverse group of young people to meet with decision makers in many area of youth policy. Training young people to speak with professionals and decision makers

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Young people from several nationalities were involved.

Training methods used & main activities

I used group discussions to get young people to talk about when they had spoken to and challenged adults successfully. We did some practice with young people taking the role of adult and young person. We also brought in adults for the young people to practice with.

Outcomes of the activity

Young people had increased confidence and were able to successfully challenge decision makers and communicate well with them.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was responsible for leading the training, writing the training and arranging for the adults to take part. I also did the feedback session about the training.

I worked on this training for 1 days as a full time trainer.
