Challenge 2 Change: Gender Perspectives in Europe

Aims & objectives

The objectives of the Training Course were following:
- To learn about gender equality concepts and perspectives in the European Union and Neighboring Partner countries;
- To exchange experiences between youth workers and youth leaders on the difficulties to find a gender balance in terms of participation of women;
- To develop participants knowledge and understanding on various concepts related to gender issues and emphasize the importance of gender equality in youth work;
- To promote gender equality in youth work and international youth projects;
- To facilitate networking process among participants and promote new common projects related to gender equality;
- To develop the quality of support systems for youth activities and capability of youth organizations to create new partnerships.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

30 youth workers from Armenia, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Russian Federation, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

Training methods used & main activities

Through participation in different scale of activities as discussions, presentations, field visits and conference participants have exchanged their skills and experiences on gender mainstreaming, gender discrimination, gender violence and gender perspectives in different parts of Europe.

Outcomes of the activity

Developing further projects and strategies for the promotion of Gender Equality on European and national levels was the main outcome for the organizations involved in the project. Furthermore, youth workers involved discovered what has been done so far in the field and to what extent youth work and youth organizations can be involved in the promotion of Gender Equality.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

- Working for the design of the content of the Training Course.
- Preparing the sessions in cooperation with the other trainers.
- Designing the content of the project according to the needs of the participants and goals of the training.
- Supporting participants in networking and developing their own projects.
- Taking care of the thematic and methodological implementation of the seminar.
- Assisting the participants in all the matters connected to the content of the project.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
