Aims & objectives

the joint staff wanted to test some of the activities indicated in the training format created during the project and instruct the participants on the basics of the circular economy

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

the target group was composed by female educators, professors, workers in the field of social inclusion, members of the partnership associations.
They were from Greece, Italy, Sweden and Portugal

Training methods used & main activities

One of the activity session was based on tinkering, a method based on learning by doing.
After the first part, a theoretical session about what is tinkering , watching two explanatory videos, participants were able to experience what they learned with the "eggs apocalypse" activity.

The trainer tells all participants the purpose of the game: to make a protection with the available materials to prevent an egg, dropped from two meters high, from breaking. At this point, he/she divides the participants into subgroups, hands out the materials or suggests that they retrieve them from among the things available in the environment they are in, and assigns a time for the activity to take place.

If the materials have been provided by the organizers, each group thinks of a solution to make the egg drop protection with them. If, on the other hand, it is necessary to obtain them, it is good to study the environment and figure out what would serve the purpose.

Once each group has made its own protection, all participants come together. The group leader arranges the protection on the ground and drops the egg from two meters to test it. The important thing is to measure oneself with the themes of collaboration and cooperation and then to bring back what one has learned about one's own behaviors in the context of work and relationship experiences.

Outcomes of the activity

the last session of activities included a presentation by the participants of an innovative project concerning the topic of the exchange. The presentations showed that the theory had been learned as well as some of the methodologies to put it into practice in an original and fun way.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Being a training with two trainers, I shared the agenda with my colleague, who dealt with the theoretical part concerning the circular economy. I worked on team building and on the themes of tinkering, co design and presentation of the final works.

I worked on this training for 3 days as a full time trainer.
