Aims & objectives

1. Give tools and methods for non verbal communication in intercultural contexts; reflecting on the non verbal dimension in communication; understanding and practice art expression as a universal language and good practice for intercultural dialogue

2. The need to understand the big impact of non verbal communication and the universal language of art as a language barrier breaker; the need to have tools and experienced learning with non verbal communication and art expression

3. The organizations goals were related with intercultural dialogue, creativity and /or both - in this training we went deep on non verbal communication understanding and practice bringing wider perspective and awareness to it - this training used art expression as a mean to intercultural dialogue which one of the pilars and methods of approach of the organizations

Training methods used & main activities

1. Non Formal Education (NFE) methods; Art expression Methods;

2. NFE - welcoming activity a piece of nature from my country to the intercultural zen garden; Get to know each other; creative city adventure journeys; creative presentation from group work; communication through gestures workshop; daily reflections; intercultural night; brainstorming, group reflections;
ART EXPRESSION - clown workshop; movement workshop; storytelling; theatre workshop; performance creation and public presentation with non verbal message; movement and music jam for community; presentation and exchange of non verbal movies, books & songs from different cultures

Outcomes of the activity

1. experienced learning of art as universal language and dialogue facilitator; artistic and NFE tools to address intercultural contexts and issues; reflection and deeper understading of non verbal dimension in communication and its impact in intercultural dialogue

2. Success was measured by
ENGAGEMENT in the activities
EXCITMENT and SURPRISE with new discoveries
OVERCOMING of personal and group obsctacles that came up
POSITIVE and IMPACTFUL EVALUATION verbal and written
LEARNING was achieved and part of it expressed in the put into practice day
BONDING & COMMUNITY - the group became very close through the non verbal activities on a deep and affectionate level for their own surprise as it was initially difficult the non verbal cultural differences experienced
