Aim - the BTM training course is one of the SALTO (YOUTH Programme) networking courses which is offered as an introduction to Action 1 youth exchange activities.
Target Group - youth leaders with little previous experience of international activity.
Methods - this course uses the simulation of the real process of youth exchange, from conception, through partner-contact and joint-planning to implementation and evaluation, as its core methodology.
Responsibilities - co-trainer and report trainer.
Outcomes - participants evalauted aims as fulfilled (reports lodged with SALTO & available on request).
International Dimension - international trainer team - 2 trainers - rotational system - usually 1 female -1 male: delivery support of National Agency officers; each course average 25 participants from all programme countries.
The team always comprises two trainers from different cultural and national profiles, with support from different National Agency staff.
The participants come from many different national and ethnic backgrounds, from a wide age-range.
The BTM programme is built around a simulation game, which is interspersed with information sessions as well as activities to improve the group dynamics, and ends with an evaluation. On the next page you will find the programme of the course.
An evaluation (available through SALTO T & C) enables participants to provide detailed feedback on their learning during the BTM training course.
The intended outcome for participants is to provide them with the learning and tools they need to organise youth exchanges within the Youth in Action programme.
Participants are awarded the Youthpass certificate.
Co-planning, delivering and reporting of the BTM training course as a full-time trainer.
