TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Kata Dietrich
The main goal of the Training Course was to support youth workers in developing their entrepreneurial skills, creativity, communication, leadership and initiation skills through the method of 'creative recycling'.
Furthermore the aim was to promote sustainability in venture creation- and management, in lifelong learning and in environmental aspects between youth workers.
Last but not least to promote innovation in youth work by implementing the method of creative recycling in entrepreneurial education.
Participants of the Training Course were 25 youth workers, trainers, volunteers and members of NGOs, peer educators and mentors working with youngsters from 7 countries: Macedonia, Slovakia, Hungary, Portugal, Greece, Latvia and Estonia.
During the Training Course we used a wide range of non formal educational methods. The main methods used were experimental learning and creative recycling where we use the process of creation in order to develop soft skills of participants. We gave participants the space to learn and develop skills in different settings - we organised creative workshops, outdoor activities, discussions and we reflected on the activities in the form of reflection groups, sharing sessions and evaluation processes.
Participants received many useful tools that they can use in their daily lives as well as in their work with young people. They had the chance to put into practice what they have learned already during the program during an open event in Bratislava, at LEAF Academy (boarding school) - they got the chance to pitch their ideas and share their experiences with the public.
I was a co-trainer supporting the head trainer of the program, Barbara Földi. I designed and held some program parts and mentored one group of participants as a reflection group leader.
