The training activity took place
in Athens
organised by Greek NA
16 - 21 October 2017

Aims & objectives

The aims of this TC are to:
. Critically reflect upon participants previous international youth exchange experience(s) and the impact on young people;
. Increase the understanding of different quality aspects of youth exchanges with the Youth in Action programme;
. Experience a non-formal learning process and understand its importance in youth exchanges;
. Improve participants project management competences in order to better organize the different phases of a youth exchange.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

ATOQ is built for youth workers or youth leaders, with experience in organising youth exchanges, that want to improve the quality of their projects.
In this training, there were participants from Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Turkey. The team was composed by Ana SILVA, Marta PISZCZEK and Nerijus KRIAUCIUNAS.

Training methods used & main activities

The methodology used throughout the training was based on Non Formal Education. The team used mostly interactive games, small groups work, plenary debates and individual reflection moments.

Outcomes of the activity

The course evaluation was based on the pre-post evaluation system. At the end of the course, participants filled in Pre/post-questionnaires expressing their self-perception of learning development before and after the course. The evaluation form was used to collect the feedback from participants on the quality of the training course and its organisation. A final evaluation with participants was implemented at the end of the course.

At the end of the course, big majority of participants (88-100% in different areas) evaluated their knowledge, skills and attitudes positively (4 to 6 in the scale from 1 to 6).
The most significant results are: understanding of how to involve young people in a youth exchange;
understanding of how to reach impact in a youth exchange,
wherein both cases the understanding improved from 31% of participants evaluating it high prior the course to 93% of them evaluating their understanding high by the end of the course.
