“Alliance Post Camp Event 2011 “New Volunteering in XXI century”

in Saint Petersburg, Russia
organised by Alliance of European Voluntary Service organisations
19-25 September, 2011

Aims & objectives

The event aims to clarify the current role of voluntary organizations in the work with youth within Alliance, to find new approaches to organizing processes of volunteering and preparing volunteers for implementation of those approaches.

Objectives:

• to evaluate the experience that participants had in a workcamp season 2010-2011;
• to assess the role of workcamps in promotion of tolerance, non-violence, antiracism and anti-discrimination;
• to increase participants knowledge about the intercultural dialog, peace-building and conflict prevention and transformation in the workcamps;
• to find out the ways to increase motivation of young volunteers and stimulate their personal development throw participation in workcamps.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

35 participants from 19 countries of EU, EECA and Asia

Team consisted of 5 trainers from Ukraine, Turkey, Russia, Serbia and Czech Republic

Outcomes of the activity

This event contributed to development of Voluntary Movement and to creation of Alliance Startegy on Voluntary Service.
