TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Susana Alves
The project aims to increase competences in youth workers in supporting young people with intellectual disabilities in mobility projects.
The need to promote these projects and increase the quality in the support of participants with disabilities fit the aims of the involved organisations that work with people with disabilities or want to involve this target in mobility projects.
The TC involves 30 youth workers that work as mentors, tutors or facilitators in hosting young participants in mobility projects (ESC, youth exchanges, and so on), from Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Sweden, Greece, Malta, Austria and Latvia. The project is inclusive and involved participants with disabilities and fewer opportunities as well.
The main method is co-planning and co-creation of the programme by the participants, to respect and fit the learning needs of the participants. Other than this, peer learning, exchange of good practices, Human Library, role play methods, gamified approach, new methods of mentoring (peer-mentoring, online mentoring, 'Best Buddies') and 'Mentoring Competence Framework' focus.
New partnerships were born, new project collaborations, capacity building of organisations in support hosting participants (to be completed).
Coordination of the project, full-time trainer and support in the logistics.
