TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Evelina Taunyte
The aim of this training course was to provide youth workers, leaders and multipliers an opportunity to reflect upon how their own personality influences youth work. Facing challenges that lead the participants out of the comfort zone, providing space for sharing the insights of personal learning and training skills using methods of peer counseling are the main objectives of this training course.
The team consisted of Jan Latal from Czech Republic, me and Björn Vilhjalmsson from Island. The group consisted of participants from EU countries and Turkey, however a number of them with migration background.
Above all we tried to create space for the flow of the group process and this meant often using a method "refrain from using yet another method". Beyond that we did use methods with names, such as Theater of Oppressed, Random Diary Moments, etc.
The final report is to be found under this link: http://issuu.com/candycactus/docs/actor_in_the_shadow_report
The participants reported to learned tools and have been inspired to reflect their role and personality in youth work.
I initiated the idea of the training course and proposed it together with Jan to the Czech NA. We shared the tasks of designing, delivering and evaluating the course equally. Beyond that I wrote and edited the final report.
