Aims & objectives

This training will deal with the importance of a healthy environment and the impact of voluntarism in society.
The methodology of the training is based on:
Non Formal Education as a means of facilitating the learning process and increase the interactivity of the event;
Education through Sport, stressing the link between sport and environment;
“Learning by doing” or “learning through experience”, meaning that practical workshops and individual experiences will be most of the time the starting point for reflection.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the training are in brief:
To extend awareness about environment in the sport for all field
To build competences on how to consider and integrate environment in sport
To understand the diverse roles of voluntarism in the development of society
To build competences on how to use the methodology “education through sport” to increase the active youth participation
To create a network of people interested in using the methodology “education through sport”

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group were young people up to 35 years old, physically active and eager to learn about education through sport. Training involved about 25 participants from Denmark, Netherlands, Slovenia, Germany, Czech Republic, Iceland, France, UK and Portugal. All of the participants were actively involved in different sport activities back home or they worked with young people by using sport in their daily activities.

Training methods used & main activities

I can freely say that the methods on this training were very innovative and creative. Trainers were inspired in their working team so they had a great interaction with the group as well. The whole concept was made up on the meeting before the training started where we had experience sharing and made up the whole new concept of the activities. With interactive games, presentations, discussions, film projections and sport activities we managed to transfer the topic to participants as well to achieve the goal. We gave free space to participants for development of their creativity and setting up new workshops that they invented.

Outcomes of the activity

Training managed to make a great new network of active young people under this multi-measure project. Training was well planned and organized by first meeting in Copenhagen where trainers met and made up the concept that later on was very well implemented during the activities. In few days evaluation meeting will be held in Slovenia so I will be able to add more about final achievements and results

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My part of the program was to implement the workshops that were considering environment and environmental protection. I was also active on other parts of the training (education through sport and active youth participation), but my main task was to enroll the topic of environment. I also participated in sport event "RAIDSPECT" that was organized from the side of hosting organization UFOLEP as a part of the training learning tools. I was responsible for presentation of my workshops to the organizers and later on report sending (detail description of workshops and activities I was responsible for)

I worked on this training for 8 days as a full time trainer.
