ACTing for Change is 3-phase training program with the aim to provide Social Theatre tools and facilitation skills to youth workers directly working with young people at risk of social exclusion, encouraging them to diversify methodologies and strategies in the search for their target group's empowerment and in the boost of real social inclusion.
In the search for inclusion and empowerment tools in youth work, Social Theatre offers an invaluable summary of exercises and dynamics that can help us to identify the social issues and challenges that our target group face, as well as the possible solutions to design and implement social actions. Theatre and movement give voice to the voiceless, and provides an inclusive and safe space that enables people to question stereotypes and prejudices.
26 Youth Workers from Netherlands, Estonia, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain.
This training program is for youth workers directly with young people at a Local Level.
Experiential Learning: Using the inclusive, engaging and universally understandable tools offered by Social Theatre and Body Expression methodologies, we can boost young people’s confidence in their creative potential while fighting against the feeling of exclusion and invisibilization of their needs.
During Local Action Phase: Come back to their local organisations and put in action the gained knowledge and tools by implementing the inclusive workshops created during the 1st phase.
During 3rd Phase: Create the ACTing for Chnage Manual, a detailed and powerful written resource with Social Theatre methodologies, including the workshops created and tested by the participants.
