Aims & objectives

The main aim of ABCDE for Young People (Acting to Belong and Create Diversity in Employment for Young People) training course was to provide support for young people in Europe in their professional development and to raise awareness of the new essential competences concerning a Diverse Europe via introducing practical tools and topics to people working directly with youth.

The objectives of the training course were the following:
• to point out the connection between diversity societies, creativity approaches and new skills for new job placements;
• to experience, discuss and share cultural backgrounds and self-assess how it can be used as an added value for future employment;
• to approach different new competences to achieve employment in a creative way;
• to share different visions and understandings of diversity,
• reflecting on the notion of European diversity and its underlying features (democracy, tolerance, plurality, human rights),
• experiencing Diversity and Creativity in practice by simulations, cases and competences development.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The 30 participants of the training course were representing 15 of the YiA Programme countries, trainers team was composed of 3 trainers from Estonia and Italy.

Training methods used & main activities

During ABCDE for Young People training we used different NFE methods to ensure the versatile approach to the subject. The aim of the trainers was to ensure evolvement of the group to use the experiential resource of every participant. Experiential exercises, discussions and reflective approach was also supported by input from the trainers.

Outcomes of the activity

The main impact on the participants was that their awareness on youth employment in Europe was raised. In addition to that they received motivation and ideas to approach the issue of youth unemployment in Europe with a creative touch.

The participants received written hand-outs and summaries of the training sessions.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Full-time trainer for preparation on the program, implementation of and evaluation of training.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
