Aims & objectives

The National Agency of Finland for the Erasmus+ (Youth) Programme organised this
Partnership Building Activity (=PBA), with a clear focus on creating future youth exchanges
where the young people are very concretely involved from the ideation phase on.
 To create an opportunity to find good and reliable partners to organise youth
exchanges with, together with the young people at the very start.
 To understand what is needed to plan a youth exchange of good quality.
 To create a solid networks of contacts and partnerships.
 To equip the youth workers with insight in their role as coach and support.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This PBA was facilitated by Sami Sorjonen (FI),Jo Claeys (PT), Ana Rita Camará (PT) and Laura
Lehto (NA FI). Participating in the PBA: in total 16 hometeams (= youth worker(s) + young
people). 51 participants from 13 programme countries, being Finland, Lithuania, Portugal,
Slovenia, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Serbia, Ireland, Estonia, Italy, Czech Republic and Poland.

Training methods used & main activities

by playing games, making presentations, exploring our values and working in groups. Sometimes we will be together with the whole group, sometimes in smaller groups. Some activities are for young people only, some for the youth workers. Info inputs by facilitators

Outcomes of the activity

The main outcomes to increase the understanding about youth exchanges for young people and youth workers.


In the final survey 83,3% of the participants thought that they have also got new partners for future youth exchanges.
