9th Asia-Europe Young Volunteers Exchange Measuring voluntary service impact, from personal to community development

Aims & objectives

The training was the first step of a 28-days project on the impact of IVS in local communities in Asia and Europe. The project combined training activities, reflection, exchange of good practices, project visits, interviews with
AEYVE-alumni, international volunteers, local
communities and national partners. The training focussed on dealing with the learning dynamics of an Asia-Europe intercultural project and how to measure the impact of voluntary service. A presentation of the quantitative and qualitative assessment and evaluation methods and tools developed by the preparatory team have been part of the training.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group was composed of 18 participants from France, Italy, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Indonesia, Belgium, China, Estonia, India, Japan, Lithuania, Myanmar. The team was composed of trainers from Italy, Romania, France and India.

Outcomes of the activity

The participants have been actively involved in the measuring of the impact of IVS in the local communities. They have produced reports for the sending organisations and concretely used the tools showed during the training.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I have been in charge of the general support to the organisers and I have co-lead the sessions about the evaluation tools.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
