TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

This TC was focused on educators and people working with people for them to DISCOVER how they and others learn and grow, DARE to take a next step in their life and DIVE IN their personal growth.
It aimed to bring together youth workers, volunteers, teachers, trainers, social workers and everybody interested in formal and non-formal education and learning, who wanted to share their practices and learn new tools and methods that are usable in their everyday personal and professional life. We were looking for synergies and interconnections between formal and non-formal education and explore how to implement non-formal education methods into the formal environment.
The main topic of the training was education and learning. We thus explored how we learn and how we support others in learning, how we motivate ourselves and others, how we make education playful and fun experience and how to be creative in learning. Through experiential activities we addressed the needs of participants in exploring how to take responsibility for their own learning, how to discover and develop potential of every individual and how to go for our maximum in life.
This training involved 20 participants, who were involved and interested in non-formal and formal education, older than 18 years and coming from the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Greece or Croatia.
The team was also international consisting of 4 members + 2 trainers.
It was an intense personal development project during which participants experienced 10 full days of personal development activities, outdoor physical activities, creative workshops, discussions, reflections, etc. They designed, prepared and delivered workshop in a school in Brno for pupils of 7th and 8th grade, applying what they were learning and combinin non-formal and formal education tools.
The whole programme was very experiential and based on “learning by doing” approach.
Participants learned about specifics of non/formal education, discovered their own ways in being involved in it, conducted workshops of 45 minutes for 150 pupils at school in Brno, developed their self-esteem, communication and problem solving skills.
