The Forum focused on social inclusion and how international youth work can contribute to social participation. Participants had the opportunity to discuss topics such as: inclusion of refugees, migrants and their descendants in society, intolerance, xenophobia and racism as subjects of youth exchanges, youth unemployment, youth participation and vocational training.
The Forum’s objectives were to:
•promote non- formal education and intercultural learning
•explore the needs of young people in both countries
• establish long-term cooperation between youth organizations in the two countries
•exchange of good practices, especially in regards to inclusion of refugees
•explore the social reality in Greece and Germany in 2017.
The target group was members of Greek and German NGOs which had previous experience on the field of Greek - German bilateral collaboration.
The participants were also active on youth projects and had experienced in social participation and active in national and international youth work.
In this event, 80 youth experts participated
The Forum was based on non-formal education methods, encouraging active participation of young people involved, giving space for participants to take an active role, expressing themselves and sharing good practices.
The forum had many outcomes.
Apart from the knowledge based outcome (current status of the two countries/ bast practices exchange), the main results were the building of new cooperations - partnerships and the development of pre-proposals for projects under ERASMUS+.
I was one of the three facilitators of the Forum, meaning that I was a full time trainer.
