http://trainers.salto-youth.net/MaherDraidi/
I am a theatre pedagogue and non-formal education trainer working in intercultural and community contexts. My work focuses on youth empowerment, communication, and social inclusion. Using creative methods such as theatre, body expression, and participatory learning, I support dialogue, confidence, and collaboration. I enjoy creating safe spaces where people can express themselves, share experiences, and explore ideas together, turning learning into a creative and inspiring process.
Maher Draidi has 3 references for past work as a trainer.
Theatre pedagogue/ Trainer/ director
In recent years, I have been working as a freelance trainer and theatre pedagogue in Berlin, collaborating with NGOs and community organisations to deliver workshops and educational projects for young people and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. My work focuses on non-formal education, communication skills, body expression, and intercultural dialogue. Through theatre-based methods, role-play, and participatory activities, I facilitate workshops that support self-expression, group collaboration, and reflection on social topics such as identity, inclusion, and respectful communication.
In addition, I have been involved in projects working with refugees and migrants, providing support, communication training, and creative workshops that help participants build confidence and strengthen their social participation. Many of these activities also address themes such as violence prevention, personal boundaries, and respectful relationships in multicultural environments.
In the near future, I plan to continue developing creative training formats that combine theatre, body awareness, and non-formal learning methods to support youth empowerment and social dialogue. I am also interested in expanding my work through international training courses and collaborations, particularly within Erasmus+ and youth work networks, where creative approaches can contribute to participation, inclusion, and intercultural learning.
My training work is based on a combination of formal education and extensive non-formal learning experiences in theatre, communication, and social education. I began my professional journey in the performing arts by studying experimental theatre and acting in Palestine, where I was introduced to theatre as a powerful medium for expression, storytelling, and social reflection.
Later, I continued my professional development in Berlin, where I completed a high diploma in pedagogical theatre with intercultural competence. This training allowed me to develop skills in using theatre as an educational tool, combining artistic methods with facilitation techniques, group dynamics, and non-formal learning approaches. These experiences shaped my understanding of theatre as a method for empowerment, dialogue, and social learning.
In addition, I studied Public Relations and Advertising in Berlin, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. These studies have strengthened my understanding of communication strategies, public engagement, and how social messages can be communicated effectively to different audiences.
Alongside my formal education, I have also participated in various non-formal trainings related to communication methods, violence prevention, and youth work, including workshops focused on preventing violence against women and children and trainings in group facilitation and intercultural dialogue.
