TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
http://trainers.salto-youth.net/EdytaGawlak/
Trained in psychology, driven by curiosity. Facilitator who believes learning should feel alive, not obligatory.
I combine intercultural psychology, design thinking and Nonviolent Communication to help people learn and connect in meaningful ways. My workshops turn empathy into action — from communication and feedback to creative collaboration and youth participation. I work with young people, educators and NGOs who want to build soft skills, confidence and understanding across cultures.
Edyta Gawlak has 3 references for past work as a trainer.
psychologist, trainer, facilitator
I am a psychologist and certified facilitator (Facilitation Foundation, APMG International) as well as a certified Design Thinking Facilitator (APMG International). Over the last years, I have designed and delivered more than 800 hours of training and workshops in the fields of design thinking, Nonviolent Communication, feedback, and soft skills development.
I work mainly with youth, educators and NGOs, focusing on inclusive education, intercultural learning and communication. A significant part of my work involves supporting children and young people on the autism spectrum through social skills trainings (TUS) and psychological consultations, helping them develop communication confidence, emotional regulation and teamwork abilities.
Before becoming a full-time trainer, I spent six years as a volunteer projects coordinator, designing and leading both individual and group volunteering programmes under the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+. This experience deeply shaped my understanding of youth motivation, intercultural cooperation and the value of non-formal learning.
Currently, I implement and co-create KA2 cooperation projects within the Social Innovation Workshop Foundation (Fundacja Warsztat Innowacji Społecznych), focusing on empathy, creativity and social inclusion. My recent work includes facilitating international training courses on Design Thinking for youth workers (CulturAll project), co-leading the Student Project Incubator Summer Programme 2025 (Una Europa & Jagiellonian University), and running workshops on communication, feedback and innovation for educators and cultural institutions.
In the near future, I plan to continue developing learning experiences that blend psychology, design thinking and intercultural communication — supporting organisations and youth workers who want to make education more inclusive, participatory and human-centered.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, with a strong focus on social and intercultural psychology. Alongside my formal education, I have completed several certified programmes for trainers and facilitators, including Facilitation Foundation (APMG International), Design Thinking Facilitator (APMG International), and a Postgraduate Study in Group and Team Work in the NVC Approach.
I also took part in an extensive Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (TSR) training course, which has strongly influenced the way I design learning processes — focusing on strengths, resources and achievable progress rather than problems. My education is complemented by continuous learning in Gestalt-based approaches, which I integrate into my facilitation work to build awareness, authenticity and presence in group dynamics.
Over the years, I have participated in and co-facilitated many Erasmus+ and ESC projects, including those working with young people affected by war-related trauma. These experiences have deepened my understanding of resilience, empathy and the transformative power of non-formal education.
All these paths — academic, experiential and human — have shaped my approach as a trainer: I design spaces where learning feels safe, reflective and alive, blending psychology, creativity and genuine human connection.
