Youth exchange "Be Happy, Be Polyglot"

CET platforma Skopje is looking for partners for a project “Be Happy, Be Polyglot” that is planning to submit to the Macedonian National Agency on the 5th of October 2021 deadline. The project is envisioned as an 8-days youth exchange for young people and youth leaders coming from 6 European countries that will be organized in late 2022 in North Macedonia.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

The main aim of the youth exchange "Be Happy, Be Polyglot" is to bring together 36 young people and youth leaders from 6 different countries and to deconstruct the myth that learning new languages is a difficult thing to do.

We would like to show that once you learn a new language it would be much easier to learn a new language, especially, if it belongs in the same group of languages. That's why we are connecting the Slavic and Romance languages. By learning one Slavic language it will be much easier to learn and to be able to understand the other ones. The same goes for the Romance languages. But in the bottom line, everything depends on the level of motivation. Motivation leads to discipline, discipline to perseverance and perseverance leads to good results. What better motivation than making it clear about the benefits that learning languages bring.

We go with the bold statement that learning foreign languages have the ability to set a person up for success in nearly every aspect of his/her life. Let's start with the jobs. Learning a foreign language opens up a world of job opportunities. It can also open many potential career doors, not only in terms of the range of jobs but also the range of destinations to find a job abroad.

According to studies, polyglots also are better at problem-solving, more creative and are better multitaskers. All these skills are very attractive to any potential employer. Another benefit of learning new languages is that makes a person to be more open-minded and exposed to different cultures, information and opportunities.

The working methods used throughout the youth exchange will be various non-formal educational and creative methods that will include: brainstorming, discussions, work in small and bigger groups, simulations, debates, theatre, role-playing, presentations and outdoor activities.

Please use the format of the PIF that we attach to this call for partners. It doesn’t need to be the same document, but it MUST have the answers to all questions included in it or otherwise we will discard your email.
