In this project we'll make our own films using smatphones that will bring up a topic of ecology and organize Film Festival to show our works to local community.
We need two partners (one from EU and one from partner country) that can send 7 young people (14-19 years old and a leader who should be older), interested in films and caring about our natural environment for youth exchange.
If you want to participate, please read summary of the project and answer a few questions below.
By realizing this project we want to learn how to use our cellphones in creative and constructive way, increase ecological awareness of our communities and influence local environmental policy.
The 9-day youth exchange will take place at the end of August 2018 in Skole, Ukraine. A month before it, two participants from each country will meet at 2-day Advanced Planning Visit. Participants of the project are 28 young people (aged 14-19) from 4 countries. About 2/3 of us come from villages or little towns, where we have very limited access to optional classes or any valuable activities for our leisure time.
During the project will take part in film-making workshops, where two professional director will teach us how to make documentary films using our smartphones. Then, we will create our own films, in international groups, that will bring up a topic of natural environment. We will also take part in ecological workshops, where we will show each other how to up-cycyle plastic bottles and other kinds of rubbish. Last stage is organising a Documentary Film Festival, where we will show results of our work: films and the things we up-cycled to local government, youthworkers and other interested people. Together we will discuss the problems of local environment and ways to resolve them.
In addition to workshop's method we will use a lot of ice-breakers, outdoor games, brainstorming, discussions and work in international project-groups to achieve the project goals.
Follow-up activities assume organizing similar film festivals in other partners' countries. We also want to start filmmaking club, where we will create next films and share our knowledge to our peers.
As a result, we and our friends will learn how to make documentary films, we will learn new ways to protect our environment, show them to our local communities and we will convince local governments to resolve some ecological problems of our regions.
