A KA153-YOU project developing youth workers’ practical soft skills through real-life dilemmas, experiential learning and intercultural exchange.
Beykoz Municipality is developing an Erasmus+ KA153-YOU project together with a partner organisation from Georgia.
The project focuses on strengthening the practical soft skills of youth workers through Dilemma-Based Experiential Learning. Instead of learning soft skills mainly through theory, participants will work with realistic youth-work situations where there is no single perfect answer.
Through simulations, role-play, case studies, peer learning and reflection, participants will develop skills in decision-making, communication, emotional intelligence, empathy, conflict resolution, adaptability and problem-solving.
The project is planned as a 10-day international learning process: 5 activity days in Türkiye and 5 activity days in Georgia. The first phase will focus on experiencing and understanding different youth-work dilemmas, while the second phase will focus on intercultural learning, practical application and learning how to design and facilitate dilemma-based activities.
Participants will also contribute real, anonymised situations from their own youth-work experience and use them to develop practical learning activities. One of the planned results is a “WHAT WOULD YOU DO? – Dilemma Toolkit for Youth Workers” that can later be used in local youth work.
We are looking for organisations that:
-work actively with young people and/or youth workers;
-have experience in youth work or non-formal education;
-can involve motivated youth workers in the project;
-are interested in experiential learning and soft-skills development;
-can contribute real youth-work experiences, methods and good practices.
