The Partner-Finding Tool
Practical training course about video production for Organisations and social initiatives.
- TELL US WHY DOES YOUR ORGANISATION NEED THIS! -
- MUTUAL PARTNERSHIP FOR THIS DEADLINE WILL BE CONSIDERED WHILE SELECTING -
“V.D.O. Makers” is a training course in which we would like to explore the field of video making, giving powerful prompts and tools to youth workers involved actively in the partner organisations. It will boost their competences and skills related to this visual art, enabling them to use the acquired knowledge back home, spreading and promoting through videos the activities their associations are running. Benefits, as expected results, will be for the organisations themselves as for the local communities in which they’re based: helping them to reach more people through social video contents and disseminating the acquired knowledge by sharing the skills gained/developed and delivering media literacy workshops for youngsters.
We strongly believe in the power of sharing, learning by doing and experimentation, for this we’re expecting a heterogeneous group composed of different levels of experience since we’ll facilitate and encourage mainly activities based on teamwork and collaboration. Participants will get to know the different methodologies and points of view by working side to side with colleagues from other countries while they’ll learn useful tips of frugal production and guerrilla filmmaking.
Trainers of the activity will be Fabio Meazza (ASOCIACIÓN CULTURAL L’AYALGUINA, Spain) and Leonor Rothes (RESEARCH-INTELLECTUAL CLUB DIALOGUE OF GENERATIONS, Georgia), experienced in the fields of video making, storytelling and acting.
The approach will be 80/85% practical, giving to participants plenty of time for exploring and completing individual and group tasks; 5/10% theoretical, delivering sessions on useful tips and technical details, proposing inspirational examples, constantly checking the development of the tasks and being always present for consulting; 10% reflective, scheduling every day a final moment where participants will have time to disconnect from the tasks, sharing their thoughts, feelings and learnings.
Objectives:
- To develop youth workers’ knowledge about media literacy;
- To boost youth workers’ effectiveness in communication and promotion of social initiatives;
- To acquire practical skills in all the stages of video production;
- To explore ways to make the process cheap, sustainable but still effective;
- To enhance teamwork and creativity skills under time pressure.
