=BRIEF PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANISATION=
L'Ayalguina Cultural Association is a non-profit entity whose aims are the training, encouragement and support of people who aspire to a happy life, based on self-confidence and openness to others, honesty, generosity, expression of feelings and commitment to the community. We opt for a culture of solidarity and cooperation, based on respect for the dignity of individuals and peoples, diversity and human rights.
To fulfil these purposes, we carry out the following activities: social intervention; cultural and artistic activities; training actions; free time activities; publications and dissemination of materials; sports activities; support and accompaniment of the different sectors of the population to develop committed, active and responsible citizenship; promotion of networking and collaboration between entities, educational community, resources and public administration; and all those actions that, being in accordance with the aims of the Association, its assembly establish as appropriates.
Our team comprises professionals who have worked for more than 20 years with all the profiles of young people, developing spaces for youth and coordinating different projects locally and internationally.
=ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCE OF THE ORGANISATION=
L'Ayalguina and its staff have been actively working since 2008 on youth projects in the local communities of Avilés and Castrillón. Their main approach is non-formal, developing activities and running groups in which youngsters are in the centre of generated and dedicated spaces and projects. They work in schools and in the public areas of the municipalities of Avilés and Castrillón, financed by both youth services.
Local projects: "Conecta Joven", based on a service-learning approach, gives the opportunity to young people to learn and teach the basics of technology to elder people; "Antenas Informativas" supports and encourages youngsters to propose activities and promote them in their high schools; "Radiadora" lets them free of creating a personal space in the online radio of the youth services of Avilés; we also supported and coordinated the birth of Castrillón’s feminist youth group.
International projects: "YEuropa! Project" is the international department of our association, dedicated to international youth mobility. Our main goal is to connect young people with European education and training programs. We primarily focus on opportunities from the Erasmus+ program, such as youth exchanges and training courses for youth workers. So far, we organized 7 KA1 projects, hosted 3 of them, and have been actively participating in one KA2 small-scale partnership project.
=INFORMATION ON KEY STAFF/PERSONS=
