Unlocking Memories - Remembering the Past, Shaping the Future

GESW (Gesamteuropäisches Studienwerk/Pan-European Educational Center) based in Vlotho, Germany in cooperation with Euphoria based in Athens, Greece is applying for an Erasmus+ KA1 project (youth exchange) which will take part in Germany and Greece. The project is called “Unlocking Memories - Remembering the Past, Shaping the Future”. Within the framework of these two exchanges, young people will gain knowledge about the cultures of remembrance in Germany, Greece and Italy and deal with topics and countries that were previously unknown or little familiar to them. They will take a look at history and deal with the history of the Second World War in Greece, Italy and Germany and its consequences. They will understand how the past and the way we deal with it can still influence social and political discussions (see reparation payments) and arouse suspicion. In addition, they understand the power of ideologies (especially nationalism, fascism and National Socialism) and are sensitized to the structures, contents and strategies of the “new right” in Europe.
We are looking for a partner from ITALY (NGO, youth center, youth organization) preferably form a location that had an impact from WW2, who will support us in the whole procedure of the project such as
-contribution in the application
-selection and preparation of the participants
-delivering workshops during the youth exchanges
-keep regular and fast communication with the two other partners
The selected organization will receive a fee if delivering workshops during the activities. Interested organizations please send their PIF until March 15 to navina.engelage@gesw.de.
