The project aims at bringing forth and finding solutions to common issues on youth discrimination based on ethnic origin.
The project will take place in the rural community of Izvoarele village, Prahova County in Romania. The beautiful surroundings and the mountain landscape shared by both Romanian and Roma ethnics will provide an excellent environment for building trust, tolerance and understanding between the different ethnic groups participating in the Exchange.
The participants will attend group meetings focusing on identifying common issues in the partner countries, workshops to generate possible solutions for fighting ethnic discrimination and traditional Roma Crafts workshops. During the Activity, the participants will deepen their understanding on youth discrimination around Europe, will participate in elaborating solutions to their common issues and will gain skills related to traditional Roma crafts in Romania. The participants will also be involved in promoting nondiscrimination by organizing and acting as living books in a Living Library in the nearest town, Valenii de Munte. Valenii de Munte has a population of 13300, hosting 3 of the most important high schools in an area of more than 50000 enhabitants.
