We will review in what way are our current paradigms limit us in coping with the consequences of our global crisis and take a look from new perspectives
BOCS Foundation plan to organize a 10-day long workshop for 24 youth workers from 6 countries in April 2013 in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. The participants will come from different backgrounds within youth work.
According to ecological footprint calculations the environmental burden of humanity is increasingly overloading the Earth's carrying capacity, particularly severe since the last quarter of the 20th century. In order to adapt to this historically new and potentially dangerous situation is a paradigm shift, a global way of thinking. (A paradigm is a way of thinking, including ideas, beliefs, values, and a combination of methodologies that a particular society or cultural community consider to be self-evident.) During the training course we will review in what way are our current paradigms limit us in coping with the consequences of our global crisis situation and take a look from new perspectives. Then we put it into the context of youth work and finally develop a set of global education materials that can be used for youth work. The training course will be highly participatory and be based on non-formal learning methods.
