Terrarum Orbis

Our project is designed to connect migrants with the citizens of their host countries, to raise awareness among youngsters about migrations issues.

A rising number of refugees and migrants make their journey to the European Union to seek asylum and to be safe from wars and political instability.
They are human beings who have lost everything also the faith towards an Europe which often does not want them, as recent crossing closures demonstrate.
Our project is designed to connect migrants with the citizens of their host countries, especially we wish to cooperate with organizations operating in border areas as: Turkey, France, Macedonia and Greece or all those countries with a recent and strong migratory flow. Our focus is to raise awareness among youngsters about migrations issues, trought intercultural learning
We would like to use the mean of documentary to connect youngsters’ stories and experiences, for two reasons : give visibility to all the situations we will deal with and, besides, to guide our youngster towards an attractive activity useful for their future.

Through the activities of the project, we would like to analyse the two sides of the same dilemma, to be able to understand the feelings of those who leave their country and daily life to look for safer places and of those who found themselves as “welcomers” and as we know, the public opinion is split on this issue.

PROJECT STRUCTURE

TRAINING COURSE:- GENOVA 17-22 OCTOBER 2016

This training course is designed for the group leaders. who will have to work hard on their own territory at the end. (Since there are 2 Y.E. planned, the group leaders of both Y.E have to get involved in this Training Course)

AIMS:
➢ Get to know the situation of the areas of interest- sharing data and good practices.
➢ To introduce the theme of the youth exchange and, more specifically, of the documentary related to migration issues
➢ To introduce the documentary techniques : methods, themes and objectives.
➢ To establish together how to organize future activities and set deadlines.
➢ to create a strong connection between leaders in preparation of the youth exchanges

Please note: the group for this first Youth Exchange must be made up before or immediately after the training, because a big part of the documentary will be organized autonomously by the partner organizations .
The Y.E will be held 2 months ( at least) after the Training Course, to give enough time to the organization to collect all the materials.

To Interview the youngster coming from hosting countries: Migrants have now the possibility to interview participants from the host counties.
Post production of the documentary: collecting materials and adding interviews.
To organize a final event
Dissemination and follow up: The final project will be send to every partner organization which will setup an event of broadcast. Furthermore, the documentary will be uploaded on the existing facebook page. We want to put in contact participants from both youth exchanges to share ideas and opinions.

POSSIBLE FOLLOW-UP

At the end of the whole project we will have enough shooting to be able to create a single documentary project, made by the union of the two documentaries created during the youth exchanges.

If the documentary reaches suitable criteria for airing nationwide we would like to publish it for a bigger impact. Therefore, also the partner countries should created a net with their TV networks ( local and national) or newspaper . Not only for the subject of the youth exchange, but also to promote erasmusplus as good example of awareness reasing,

Furthermore, we are setting an on-line radio, which will be active for the entire length of the projects.
Our idea is to let the participants organize the radio set line.
