TEN "Team for European Networking"

The long-term volunteering project Team for European Networking (T.E.N.) is the tenth long-term volunteering project which LDA Brtonigla develops as a pioneer in Croatia since 2009. Each of the tenth projects has been setting a different focus of the enormous creative potential of EVS during the eleven months’ service period to different aspect of European youth’s agenda.
The current project aims to offer a design of a programme for four young Europeans to develop new skills, advance their knowledge, enrich their experience and train new attitudes and behaviours while working with the team of LDA and its numerous partners and collaborators in the picturesque village of Brtonigla, situated in north-west Croatia, in the centre of Europe. The project’s objectives are focused on networking and creating connections among Europeans, alignments that mobilize the active youth and get together their potential and creativity for finding solutions and innovative approaches towards the similar and common challenging problems in their local communities and living environments.
The team of the agency will assist and help the volunteers interested in communications and active citizenship to explore the theme of networking and voicing the opinions and the positions of the youth through media, social networks, taking part in public debates and participation in local democracy.
The complex dynamics of different national tendencies, the issues and the obstacles that the Europeans and particularly the youth face in their own communities are diverse but often similar and become barriers to their goals and plans. At the same time, the need of the Europeans across national borders to know each other better in order to understand the similarities of many of the challenges they face is essential for our common European identity and future.
Following the established tradition, during their service period, the four volunteers will gain new skills in the local languages, participate and collaborate with the local youth, community organizations and partners of LDA and will spread the values and culture of the Erasmus plus programme among their peers in Istria, as well in their home countries.
The period of eleven months will allow mutual learning and understanding of the participants with the local culture and community, through shared ideas, participation in building and realizing common projects and initiatives, which will strengthen the personal capacity, enrich the knowledge, train attitudes and skills and establish sustainable networks among the European youth, enabling them to generate and realize their creative solutions in Europe as their home.
