The project aims to enhance professional skills of the experts and sharing experiences for the benefit of obliged and personnel.

Probation is an alternative penal execution system in which the suspect, defendant or convict is supervised and monitored in the community and all kinds of services, programmes and resources needed for the improvement and reintegration of the person into society are provided. The Probation System in Turkey was established in 2005 within the scope of the EU Accession Regulation and has made significant progress in the execution process in recent years and has become an education model that serves with non-formal and informal education methods.

In the preparation of the Ministry of Justice European Development Strategic Plan; it is aimed to
- To create awareness/sensitisation,
- To improve strategic management skills,
- To develop problem solving capacity,
- To strengthen the corporate culture

The two main working areas of the Probation Directorates serving in line with these objectives are;
-Supervision
-Education and correction activities.
The purpose of establishment of the Directorates of Probation is not only to execute the sentences of the obliged persons under caution but also to reintegrate them into the society. With the education and rehabilitation activities carried out in line with this purpose, it is aimed that the convicts put their lives in order, realise the behaviours that cause them to commit crimes and see that they can change, adapt to social life, gain knowledge and awareness, gain awareness, continue their lives as healthy individuals and prevent recidivism, and ensure social peace with individual recovery.

Düzce Directorate of Probation was established under the Ministry of Justice General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses in the centre and Düzce Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in the provinces with the "Law on Probation and Assistance Centres and Protection Boards" numbered 5402, which entered into force on 03/07/2005, and is one of the directorates currently operating in 148 Heavy Penal Centres throughout the country.
