Sosyal Arabuluculuk (Social Mediation)

The social mediation project was officially launched in Turkey in September 2024 and was created by MEBİVA and its partners upon the request for mediation, which received 12 thousand applications in the first 15 days. MEBİVA, which has served as the Ombudsman, and the Ombudsman Institution and Anadolu University have decided to conduct an awareness study in this field, especially with the aim of wanting young people and their close circles to learn the concept of social mediation theoretically and practically, and considering the need in this field in our country.

The goals and objectives of our project can be summarized as follows:
1. Social Mediation Awareness: Our project aims to teach the participants the concept of social mediation and to raise awareness on this issue.
2. Training of Social Mediators: We aim to contribute to the reduction of social conflicts and the increase of social peace by training participants as social mediators.
3. Dissemination of Information and Awareness: Our project aims to inform not only the participants but also their surroundings, NGOs and institutions in the participating provinces about social mediation through the project guide and policy document we have created.

4. Personal Development: As part of the project, young participants will aim to increase their self-confidence, develop their learning skills, use digital tools and develop digital literacy skills.

5. Active Citizenship: Participants aim to develop active citizenship skills such as problem solving, analytical thinking and teamwork by actively participating in every stage of the project.

6. European Union Values: Our project aims to provide participants with the opportunity to develop the citizenship values ​​​​of the European Union.

7. Information and Documentation: Participants will learn about Erasmus+ youth projects and will have the opportunity to document the skills they have gained with the Youthpass certificate.

8. Job Finding Processes: Post-project job finding processes will be facilitated thanks to the Youthpass certificate.
9. Social Impact: The skills gained in the project aim to increase the self-confidence of young people by positively affecting their individual and social lives.

10. Conscious Individuals: Thanks to the guides and information sharing created in the project, participants aim to become more conscious individuals in terms of social mediation.
