Proud Volunteers for Solidarity 1

12 people took part in the project, including 7 women and 5 men, 2 people from outside the EU, 10 people from the EU. They were working mainly with kids.

Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the project was extended by means of an annex: from 01/10/2019 to 31/08/2021. The arrivals took place in multiple rounds, which complicated the logistics of the project. Many of the participants from outside the EU waited for many months for the opportunity to come to Poland, of which only 2 of them made it - Roman from Belarus and Salome from Georgia. We recruited for this project from autumn 2019, we had many candidates from the EU and beyond. In the first planned date, i.e. spring 2020, only 2 volunteers came to the project - Chiara from Italy and Aymara from Spain, who were recruited for the A5 activity in kindergarten No. 51
Before leaving home, all volunteers were insured, received an info-kit from us and the Volunteering Agreement, to which they could submit their comments and suggestions. Everyone was picked up from the airport/station and taken to their apartment where welcome food and clean sheets and towels were waiting for them. All volunteers underwent initial training at the Prom Foundation (live or partially online) and necessary examinations (sanitation, occupational medicine). Each of them had a mentor, and volunteers with fewer opportunities - also a special mentor - a psychologist. Volunteers were informed about the special sanitary requirements in the workplace called from Covid-19 and received information from us about changes in government restrictions. From autumn 2020, volunteers worked in a normal mode, because kindergartens and schools were open. If a case of Covid was detected in any group - volunteers were quarantined or transferred to another group. Volunteers worked 6-7 hours a day, including Polish.
During their work, volunteers from educational institutions used the following methods: guided games and activities, presentations, manual activities (art, technical), recycling, theater, sport, educational activities adapted to the age of children, learning through play, learning foreign languages, group work singing and playing instruments
Volunteers in the A6 department worked largely in a hybrid formula - office tasks online, events with children - live.
